A gritty real-deal read. Take off the rose-colored glasses and be prepared for a reality that most people probably haven't imagined... yet alone lived.
The sequal... "Tattoo"... is the same. A hard-boiled, straight-edged continuation that picks up right where "A Garden of Sand" leaves off... and is equally worth the read. In fact... it is a must read.
The saga is enlightening, depressing, humerous, and will make you give thanks for all of the basic things that we all take for granted. Whatever your capacity for empathy is... it will be greater after this reading experience.
