About the AuthorGail Perry is a CPA and a graduate of Indiana University. She has worked in public accounting for more than 20 years and has spent that time helping her clients make the best use of the tax laws and accounting rules that benefit them most. Gail is a former senior tax consultant with the international CPA firm Deloitte, where she specialized in providing tax planning services and advice to small businesses. She has written hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles about taxes, personal and business finances, and financial software and is the managing editor of AccountingWEB, an online daily news magazine for members of the accounting profession. Gail is the author of more than 20 books, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Doing Your Income Taxes, Quicken All-In-One Desk Reference for Dummies, and Surviving Financial Downsizing: A Practical Guide to Living Well on Less Income.
Laura Madeira is the owner of American Computer Staffing, Inc., a software sales and consulting firm located in the greater Dallas, Texas area. Her affiliations with Intuit include being a member of the Intuit Writer/Trainer Network, Advanced Certified ProAdvisor, Certified Point of Sale ProAdvisor, and Enterprise Solutions Provider.
Laura is also the author of the QuickBooks 2009 Solutions Guide also published by Que Publishing.
Laura has been teaching companies how to use Intuit's products since its first version. Laura has instructed more than 10,000 individuals. She presents QuickBooks training to audiences comprised of accountants, consultants, and end users. She represents Intuit as a select presenter for its yearly national multicity New Product Tour Launch seminars and QuickBooks Advanced Certification Training seminars. Laura continues to be a guest speaker for Intuit at national CPA trade shows.
Laura is also a skilled technical writer and has provided Intuit with technical training and public presentation materials over the years. Her “QuickBooks at Year-End” document has been distributed by Intuit at several national events and is one of Intuit's most requested training and presentation documents.
