The Custer Album: A Pictorial Biography of General George A. Custer Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Was he a martyr or damned? A hero or a fool? This pictorial biography of George Armstrong Custer explores all facets of the legendary general from his boyhood to West Point, through the Civil War and his earlier battles, to his last stand. It shows Custers family, friends, and associates, military and civilian, white and Indian, at work and at play. More pictures of Custer-related people, places, and artifacts are assembled here than in any other book or museum collection.

Book News Annotation:

The text is interwoven with some 238 photos and drawings of people, places (including five maps) and artifacts associated with Custer. This is a reprint of a 1964 work originally published by Superior Pub. (Seattle, WA). (UPBN previously--Sept. 90--characterized the paper as acidic; it is not, and we apologize for the error.)
