Publisher Comments:

Diary of My Heart began after a love affair that went very wrong, but it didn't end there. Discovering the person left hurt and damaged also brings forth self-discovery. Admission of the mistakes made while coming to understand what love teaches a person are all wrapped up in the poems written here. Diary of My Heart contains moments of tragic debilitating depression and conquering them to find that you must truly know yourself before you can truly love another. This collection is an honest portrait of my experience with my first serious love and the years that followed. I have written at various times in my life to better understand what I was going through. It is the greatest form of therapy you can do for yourself and I am happy to share my work with others. Diary of My Heart shows that there is always someone who can relate to what you are going through if you only reach out to them. This book proves love is always closer than you think, but you will never be ready for it until you truly know yourself. Open yourself up to Diary of My Heart and you might find that you aren't alone out there.

As they say good things come in small packages. This book is about 110 pages maybe a few more. It comes across more like a short essays in part of the books although it is under the poetry section, which may have been why I didn't find it until now. Entries like "Shame" speak of painful memories or events that the author begins with lines like "Silenced with Shame, you've done more than wound. You creep and you crawl, you continue to maul..."
The words are simple and poignant. I appreciate the simplicity of this book and that is not a slight in any way.
Pages like "Precious Dreamer" with lines like "Keep dreaming little one. Giggles and laughter all that I hear each and everytime you are near."
Even though I chose a few words from those two poems they are straight forward words that anyone can enjoy. It proves that someone can share great pain and love in one book. A good book doesn't have to be epic to be well done and I found Diary of My Heart a little gem hidden among the multitude of books available today.
I give this 5 stars because I enjoyed it immensely, but I could tell the author wasn't the publishers priority so I have to say they didn't do a proper job of editing in some places or the design of the book, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying it.

If you are looking for something I'd suggest trying Diary of My Heart too.
