About the Author

Donna Baines is a social work and labor studies professor at McMaster University. She is the author of numerous articles on alternative social work practices and social justice movements. Akua Benjamin is the director of the School of Social Work at Ryerson University. She is also involved in international community development work in Trinidad, West Indies. They both live in Toronto, Ontario.
