Publisher Comments:

Things aren't right at Kingston College in the small town of Pinehurst, New Hampshire. Something very bad is happening. The college is at the center of a silent but deadly conspiracy. The conspiracy is so deep and horrific that only a few people know of its existence. Peter Kramer, freshly graduated from Michigan State University with his Ph.D, is hired by the college to serve on the teaching faculty. He arrives on campus in the late summer and begins to settle into the small community. He believes he has found the perfect job. Fall classes begin and Peter soon finds himself busily engaged in his teaching. Peter meets the beautiful Sarah Phillips, who works at the college. As their relationship deepens, a number of small and seemingly isolated events begin to occur that Peter and Sarah find very disturbing. Before long Peter's curious nature and Sarah's love for the college force them to look for answers that propel them headlong into a terrifying mystery that threatens their very lives and the lives of those around them. The mystery is so complex and secretive that it takes them from the inner confines of the college, to the core of the Boston banking community, a shabby and dangerous section of New York City, and deep into the dark woods of the foothills of the White Mountains. Their spine-chilling search for answers turns the college and town upside down. Intrigue and fear grip them as they desperately race against time to find a killer before he finds them.
