Synopses & Reviews

Review:

"After meeting the boy of her dreams, Christie O'Kelly must overcome obstacles both personal and familial before realizing her happily ever after in this predictable 1970s-set Floridian love story from first-time novelist Fitzgerald. At 14, Christie, running a 'bad third' to her older sisters' 'picture-book' beauty, encounters Todd Harrington, the college-bound object of her affections-and soon-to-be step-cousin-at her uncle Jack's wedding to Todd's mother, Carly. The attraction isn't mutual, or so it seems, until Todd breathlessly declares his love for Christie during a summer visit home. But a few months later, Todd writes home and announces he's eloped with a girl from school, and Christie develops a grudge against him that will last eight years. Christie, having come into her own as a devoted aunt and journalist, next encounters Todd when he appears at her door and tells Christie that Uncle Jack is sick, and that he is moving back home to help out. Forced by circumstance to interact with Todd, Christie must deal with her uncle's Parkinson's and her own stubborn pride. While Christie inspiringly plays the independent woman card throughout, Fitzgerald fails to deliver nuance or suspense in a plot that never strays from the formula." "A fascinating read. I could not put this one down. This story touched me so deeply, I will be shouting its praises from the rooftops…you are now one of my favorite authors, Please Keep Up the GREAT work." Terry South, Quality Book Reviews

Review:

IF TRUTH BE TOLD is an incredibly written fictional story. The author, Lynda Fitzgerald, incorporates romance, suspense and mystery into an excellent plot. Because there are no slow moments in the story, I had a hard time putting it down. Ms. Fitzgerald has a talent for wrapping you up in the story so that you start to feel like Christie's family and their issues are your own. Everything that is happening seems so real... If Truth Be Told really touched my heart. Not having Ms. Fitzgerald's talent for words, I cannot give this book the kind of review that it best deserves; I can only tell you that you should not miss out on the chance to read it. This is a great choice for a women's reader group." Paige Lovitt for Reader View

About the Author

Lynda Fitzgerald studied creative writing at both Georgia Perimeter College, where she was the winner of a Creative Writing Scholarship, and at Emory University. When she isn't writing, she can usually be found curled up with a book written by one of her many favorite authors. "I've always been a reader. I can't remember a time when I didn't read, and I can't imagine life without books. I read Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradberry) years ago with horror. Burn all books? Hideous thought! How much less exciting life would be if we couldn't count books as friends."

Lynda resides in tiny Snellville, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, with her long-time friend and current crop of rescue dogs (Cairn Terriers, this time). Though she now lives miles from any ocean, her heart and soul remain firmly planted at the seashore.

Stop by and meet her at www.fitzgeraldwrites.com, where you'll be treated to a synopsis of her upcoming novel, a blurb from a future work, and some wonderful beach photos. Her page, A Love Affair, tells something of her feelings for the east coast of Florida. Book Reviews tells you what people are saying about her work.

Lynda is a member of Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime, and she is currently working on a new mystery series, also set on the Space Coast of Florida.
