About the Author

Mexican-born Michael Schmidt grew up with a boundless passion for poetry, and has written extensively on the subject in his books Lives of the Poets and The First Poets. He has published two Nobel Prize-winning authors and four Pulitzers; and introduced readers to poetry from diverse cultures.
