The sari has been, in one form or another, the central feature of the weaving/printing tradition of India for over a thousand years. Rta Kapur Chishti is the co-author and editor of the Saris of India volumes on Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa, and editior of the volumes on West Bengal & Bihar, Orrisa & Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Uttar Pradesh & Gujarat. As a writer and translator she has written on the life and work of craftsmen and has also done script work for films.
