Publisher Comments:

In Pony Scouts: Blue Ribbon Day, the eighth book in the Pony Scouts series, horse-loving Meg, Jill, and Amy are thrilled to be going to the county fair. They get to help Jill's mom prepare the ponies for the driving class competition. And theyll have plenty of time to enjoy lots of fair fun and try the yummy treats.

Lovely watercolor illustrations on every page add to the story's charm, and a page of pony pointers explaining horse terms is a fun bonus for riding enthusiasts.

Pony Scouts: Blue Ribbon Day by Catherine Hapka is an I Can Read level 2 book, perfect for beginning readers who are gaining confidence in their reading skills but still need some help.

Synopsis:

The Pony Scouts are going to the county fair to help Jill's mom get the ponies ready for a driving class competition. There are so many fun things to do at the fair—not to mention a bunch of delicious things to eat! But when Jill, Meg, and Annie meet Ben, a boy whose mother is also entering the driving class competition, the Pony Scouts find themselves competing too! Will the best sport win after all?

The eighth Pony Scouts book in this wonderful I Can Read series will bring the same smiles as always to beginning readers.

About the Author

Catherine Hapka is the author of many books for children of all ages. She is too tall to ride ponies, though her mare, Gerri, still looks like one. Catherine takes riding lessons twice a week and lives on a farm with Gerri, three goats, a small flock of chickens, and too many cats.

Anne Kennedy loves her big spotted gelding, Frosted Art (whom she calls Frisco). In addition to being completely pony crazy, Anne enjoys dogs, movies, chocolate, and illustrating beautiful books. She lives with her family in Ohio.
