About the Author

James Dean has lived a life made up of strange and wonderful coincidences ever since he quit his job as an electrical engineer. He knew he had found something special when he painted the first painting of Pete, a black kitten he found in a cage at the animal shelter. More odd coincidences led him to Eric Litwin and HarperCollins. The success of Pete, the groovy cat, has been a magical dream. James lives with his wife, Kim, also an artist, and five cats (Bob, Frida, Audrey, FeFe, and Abbey).
