Death came knocking…

In the heart of Indianapolis in the mid 1960s, through a twist of fate and fortune, a pretty young girl came to live with a thirty-seven-year-old mother and her seven children. What began as a temporary childcare arrangement between Sylvia Likenss parents and Gertrude Baniszewski turned into a crime that would haunt cops, prosecutors, and a community for decades to come…

Behind closed doors…

When police found Sylvias emaciated body, with a chilling message carved into her flesh, they knew that she had suffered tremendously before her death. Soon they would learn how many others—including some of Baniszewskis own children—participated in Sylvias murder, and just how much torture had been inflicted in one HOUSE OF EVIL

*With 8 pages of startling photos! *

OMG, I cried thru the movie, How could anyone do this to this child, my heart goes to the family,(her sister and parents). Why did this happen? How could people get caught up and help kill this child. I know Jesus will take care of them. This is an eye opener to child abuse and to make people be aware of their duty to help or call the police when they hear any suspisious cry. I pray this will never happen again.

Hey Allison~

Sylvia wasn't raped. In fact, the autopsy revealed that her hymen was intact and that she was therefore a virgin when she died. Just settin' it straight...

I SEARCHED HIGH AND LOW TO FIND THIS BOOK. WHEN I FINALLY DID I COULDN'T PHANTOM THE IDEA OF WHAT ONE PERSON COULD TREAT ANOTHER. SYLVIA AND HER SISTER STAY WITH A WOMAN DURING THE SUMMER. SHORTLY AFTER THE SITTER TURNS ON BOTH GIRLS,BUT SYLVIA GETS THE BRUNT OF THE ABUSE. THE SITTER INVOLVES HER OWN CHILDREN,AND CHILDREN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO BEAT,BURN,STARVE,AND RAPE POOR SYLVIA WITHIN WEEKS OF HER WALKING THROUGH THE DOOR. SYLVIA DIED AT THE AGE OF 16. SHE IS STILL TO THIS DAY THE WORST CASE OF CHILD ABUSE IN THE HISTORY OF INDIANA'S COURT SYSTEM.
