Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Hugely popular in both hardcover and board book formats (over 100,000 copies sold), this fun book is now available in a new paperback format. This is an absurdly funny story that children will want to sing, chant, read, and clap to again and again.

Bought this for 3 year old grandsons. Absolute hit. They love the rhythm and rhyme and these illustrations are engaging for kids and adults. There is enough to see in each image that you (almost) forget you are repeating the end words of each line!

I use the book (first copy worn out) in a NYC school for severely handicapped children of junior to senior high school age.

The pictures are not deemed "too babyish" by my students. The song with its repetition gets them all moving at some level. For those with some reading skills, the repetitive phrases give them satisfying reading practice.

Thank you Mary Ann Hoberman.
