It Wasn't My Fault (Laugh-Along Lessons)by Helen Lester
Synopses & Reviews
“Lester and artist Munsinger . . . team up again for another rib-tickling, off-the-wall tale.” -Booklist
Murdley Gurdson is a spectacularly accident-prone boy. He falls into wastebaskets! He drops only the most valuable vases. Worse yet: “Whatever happened, it was usually his fault.” One day, as Murdley is taking a walk, a bird lays an egg above him and it splats on his head. How could that really be Murdleys fault? Turns out, it sort of is. Munsingers hilarious illustrations help make this silly story about cause and effect as lighthearted as it is useful. This read-aloud favorite is now part of a fun hardcover series about life lessons.
Includes downloadable audio!
When accidents happen to Murdley Gurdson, they are usually his own fault, but when a bird lays an egg on Murdley's head one day, he tries hard to find someone else to blame.
Murdley Gurdson runs into a lot of bad luck. When a giant bird lays a giant egg on his head, he seeks out the culprit. It isnt the bird who laid the egg. It isnt the screaming aardvark, the pygmy hippo, or the hopping shoe. Together, they learn a lesson about placing blame while turning a mishap into an opportunity for friendship. Delightful and infused with humor, Lesters texts and Munsingers illustrations will entertain and inform a wide audience. Included in each book is a note to parents and educators to help unpack the lessons in these stories. With a new smaller trim size, these books are an excellent value and a joy to read!
