Synopses & Reviews
Its the turn of the twentieth century, and New Yorks famous Bowery District is home to every kind of entertainment you could wish for—but now its also the scene of a terrible murder. The Klezmer King, the greatest clarinetist ever to play the Bowery, has died onstage in front of a packed house, fried to a crisp by his world-famous Electric Tuxedo. As Sacha and Lily help Inquisitor Wolf investigate the crime, they learn that the Klezmer King supposedly sold his soul to the devil in exchange for fame and fortune. And the more Sacha hears about this devil, the more it starts to sound like the terrifying creature that haunted him in his first adventure is back in action. Sacha has never wanted anything to do with using magic, but now he changes his mind. At last he wants to learn the magic that is his birthright—but is he doing it for all the wrong reasons?
Magic, mayhem, and humor abound in this riveting middle-grade adventure, the sequel to The Inquisitor's Apprentice.
