Fascinating Womanhood (FW) is an excellent book for those who are happily married, those who are considering marriage and those who are married and are going through a hard time and maybe considering a divorce. Let me tell you this. Don't let divorce be an option. Learn how to make it work by reading Fascinating Womanhood. Before FW I so wished that there was a school for marriage and now I know that there is a book that can help us women to understand our role in a relationship. After reading this book I now have a clear understanding of the importance of my role in the house and how by changing my attitude and behavior I can be happy, I can make my husband happy and intern make my children happy as well just by following the principles of FW. There are so many of us who believe it's the man's fault why we are not happy but FW teaches that we as women need to find our own inner happiness instead of waiting for the man to make us happy. It is our duty to make ourselves happy by this we can intern make the man happy; it's not a 50/50 proposition. It is on us to give 90% and in so doing and I quote "When you cast your bread upon the waters, it comes back buttered". FW really thought me how to be humble like a child which is one of the principals of a good relationship. FW also thought me to accept, appreciate and admire my husband and to make him #1. There is a point made in the book which talked about women who no long needs a man to kill a snake for them. It states that now a days women can kill their own snakes this is so true that's all because women wants to take on the man's role instead of leaving the men to do their job. Sometimes you hear women saying they don't need a provider or a protector that's because they have become independent which leads to a whole lot of problems in the home without them not realizing it. Many women now wants to find a job and not only that but want to find a job with higher pay and higher position which again without they knowing is causing so much problems within the family. FW teaches that the women's role is to be at home with the kids doing the daily chores that's our responsibility and not out working which makes us women stressed out and not able to take care of our family when we leave the workplace hence we start thinking about divorce but it doesn't have to be this way. I have accepted the principles of FW which I learnt recently is actually principles that God talks about and is reinforced in the bible. I so wish I could get some copies of this book to distribute in my little town. I will soon be preparing my talk about the teachings in this book which I will share at our marriage enrichment evening and hope that I will be able to open the eyes of other women who just don't know better.
