About the Author

Gary Clancy (Stewartville, MN) has written for publications such as Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, and Sports Afield and has authored several books on whitetail hunting. Michael Furtman (Duluth, MN), an award-winning outdoor writer and photographer, has written books on a wide variety of hunting and fishing topics. Shawn Perich (Hovland, MN) writes about conservation and the outdoors in weekly columns for Minnesota Outdoor News and the Cook County News-Herald. Ron Spomer (Idaho) is the host of Winchester World of Whitetails on the Versus Network and has been an outdoors writer and photographer for more than 30 years.
Ron Spomer's 20-year tenure as a hunting writer and photographer is exceeded only by his 30-year career as a whitetail deer hunter. Starting at age 14 in South Dakota, Ron has hunted whitetails in nine states with rifle, bow and muzzleloader. His articles and photographs have appeared in many books and more than 90 magazines.
