Publisher Comments:

Are you ready to begin experiencing an undiluted Jesus?

Benjamin Corey confronts our vision of Jesus head-on, asking the hard question: Is what we see and hear in the modern church all there is to the message of Jesus… or is there a more radical side to Jesus than we have been led to believe?

Get ready to encounter a Jesus that is determined to turn over the tables of a stale, ineffective and boring gospel that seeks to escape from the world instead of transforming it.

This radical Jesus and His message...

  • Invites us to reorient our lives not on Christian religion, but on the person of Jesus
  • Calls us to live out faith in the context of authentic community with others, instead of isolation
  • Includes the excluded and invites the outcast to have a seat at the table
  • Responds to enemies with a radical, unexplainable love
Undiluted will invite you to step out of your comfort zone and into a process of rediscovering the radical, counter cultural, and life-changing message of Jesus. As you do, youll discover a more vibrant faith as you embrace an undiluted Jesus and His radical message!

Review:

"Formerly Fundie blogger Corey spits out a lukewarm, 'watered-down' American Christianity for something spicier and unadulterated. When challenged by his wife to take his truisms to seminary, Corey made his way to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary near Boston, where his encounter with an 'undiluted Jesus' placed him in danger of becoming 'a little too ‘liberal',' he writes, 'since living like Jesus caused me to move in a right-to-left trajectory.' In a breezy style, Corey aims his conversion story toward a younger conservative Christian audience 'hungry for a Jesus that's a little more applicable and a little more radical than what they're being served up by the American church.' Using Bible study and personal stories, he examines 12 Christian themes, including community, change, justice, forgiveness, loyalty, and identity. One anecdote about an adoption gone wrong demonstrates the sincerity of Corey's memoir and the depth of his faith, which leads him as far as a Peruvian orphanage. While exhibiting some weaknesses common to a first book, this nonetheless establishes Corey's voice within the emergent church movement. (Aug.)" Publishers Weekly Copyright PWxyz, LLC. If you have enjoyed reading Corey's blog and have often wished that a particular post could be longer, deeper, and more richly detailed, then here is your book. Undiluted is an encouraging and inspiring account of the life of faith within the emerging Christian paradigm. The book is a challenging and fascinating look at the journey from a reductionist and fundamentalist faith to a vibrant life as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ alone. Highly recommended.
