About the AuthorDale Smith was born in Caldwell, Idaho. He spent a lot of time camping, fishing and hunting in the Idaho mountains and learned the importance of good food on these occasions. In 1966 and 1967 he worked for a food service organization in South Vietnam, baking and cooking for the Air Force. He was president of the local Bakery and Confectionery Workers Union for 12 years and retired in 1990.
