I have a dear friend waging a tough battle against Stage 4 cancer, and she has two small children. We have been surprised by the lack of concrete advice on talking with the kids. I discovered a new friend is also a Chaplain at hospice, and she gave me some great, specific advice. Then I went to the bookstore and found this book which bolstered what she said. It addresses the typical worries of a child ~ did I do something to cause this, will I be taken care of, is it okay to be sad/mad/happy? There is a brief mention of heaven and God, but it is not overt (and if you don't believe you can easily state that some people do believe in Heaven and God). I think this is a great book to help both children and adults. I highly recommend it.
