This Caldecott Honor and Newbery Honor book features the endearing pair in five enchanting stories, describing how these close friends look for lost buttons, greet the spring, and wait for mail. Full-color illustrations.

"Five very short stories (told) in a direct and ingenious style, appealing because of their ease and the familiarity of the situations. . . . The give-and-take of a fast friendship (between Frog and Toad) is gently affectionate."--"Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books." Three-color illustrations. I have started a children's bookclub and this is their 1st book to discuss. Ifound the stories very warm and worthy of discussion with young children, especially the button and the letter stories.
