We now understand that there are physical and psychological benefits that both mother and child enjoy from breastfeeding. We also understand that there can be cultural and medical impediments to successful breastfeeding. This book describes procedures that can be used by medical practitioners to full assess the needs, abilities, and objectives of patients in order to better provide them with the appropriate individual assistance they may require to successfully breastfeed their children.
