The Cat Sitter's Cradle (Dixie Hemingway Mysteries)by Blaize Clement
Synopses & Reviews
Blaize Clement won fans all over the world with the charm and wit of her pet-sitting mysteries. Now, with the help of her son, author John Clement, Blaizes beloved heroine Dixie Hemingway is back for yet another thrilling adventure in this critically-acclaimed series.
Dixie has built a nice, quiet life for herself in the sleepy town of Siesta Key, a sandy resort island off the coast of Florida. In fact, her pet-sitting business is going so well shes even taken on part-time help: Kenny, a handsome young surfer who lives alone in a rickety old houseboat. But things get a little messy when, on an early morning walk in the park with a clients schnauzer, Dixie makes a shocking discovery. Hidden among the leafy brambles is a homeless girl, alone and afraid, cradling a newborn baby in her arms.
Dixie takes the young girl under her wing, even though shes just been hired by Roy Harwick, the snarky executive of a multi-national oil company, to care for his equally snarky Siamese cat, Charlotte, along with his wifes priceless collection of rare, tropical fish. Its not long before Dixie stumbles upon a dead body in the unlikeliest of places, and soon shes set adrift in a murky and dangerous world in which no one is who they appear to be.
Smart, fast-paced and entertaining, The Cat Sitters Cradle is a perfect illustration of why
Dixies loyal fans have come to know and love her and eagerly await the next installment of her adventures.
Its another tail of murder and mayhem for Floridas premiere pet sitter inTHE CAT SITTER'S CRADLE Dixie Hemingway isnt related to the writer of the same surname, though shes no less famous in Siesta Key. Everybody knows that when it comes to pet care, she holds the strings…and lately she has more work than she can handle. Case in point: Not only is Dixie looking after a schnauzer with a nose for trouble—a recent dog walk turned up a baby in a bramble patch!—but shes also just accepted a job minding multi-millionaire oilman Roy Harwicks Siamese cat and his wifes collection of rare tropical fish. And now, you guessed it, a dead body has turned up in the unlikeliest of places. Can Dixie make her way out of this mess and manage to restore paw and order…or will she end up in the doghouse? The eighth in this popular cozy series, John Clement and Blaize Clement's The Cat Sitter's Cradle will keep both newcomers and loyal Dixie fans perched on the edge of their seats.“For anyone who loves mysteries, animals, or just plain great writing.”
