The Black Box is a wonderful example of sleuthing by the LAPD's Harry Bosch. Interesting how small clues lead to big developments in both a murder investigation and in Bosch's own life with little side clues for the reader as to the popular jazz performers of our times and where to enjoy them. Connelly's writing keeps me guessing if he obtains his stories from the real life events of his past reporting or whether he just dreams them up from his wonderfully creative mind. This book is another one of the many really great stories in his catalog of writings...you really can't go wrong on any of his books, each one is better than the next and will keep you guessing if he will be able to top his last efforts-which he repeatedly does!
