Learn the essentials from hands-on experts:
This three-book illustrated slipcase set includes The Complete Illustrated Guide to Furniture and Cabinet Construction, The Complete Illustrated Guide to Joinery, and The Complete Illustrated Guide to Shaping Wood. The Complete Illustrated Guide to Furniture and Cabinet Construction is the ultimate reference work — a graphic, step-by-step presentation of basic furniture-construction techniques. Expert woodworker Andy Rae brings organization, enthusiasm, and more than 20 years' experience to this essential book. In The Complete Illustrated Guide to Joinery, Gary Rogowski describes how to make every practical woodworking joint. Organized for quick access, using visual maps and detailed visual content, this guide presents all the standard methods and variations, including multiple options for varying skill levels and thousands of step-by-step color photos, while also covering seldom used but sometimes necessary techniques. Shaping is critical to the ultimate success or failure of a piece of furniture. Knowing this, custom-furniture maker Lonnie Bird has taken the complex subject of shaping and made it accessible to every woodworker. In The Complete Illustrated Guide to Shaping Wood, he guides the reader toward first visualizing, then drawing a shape, and then choosing the appropriate tool for creating it. Shaping techniques of all kinds are covered here — from the simplest ones to more complex bending and carving.
The most complete collection of woodworking essentials ever written. For the first time ever, all the techniques necessary to craft beautiful things from wood have been compiled into three comprehensive volumes — now available in a slipcase set. Readers will find in them a wide array of woodworking methods — including the best one for them, no matter how much time they have, how many tools they own, or how long they've been working wood.
