Synopses & ReviewsPublisher Comments:Half of all marriages end in divorce...but not because men are from Mars and women are from Venus, say many of America's top divorce attorneys. It is because husbands and wives move to different planets after wedding vows are exchanged. The solution to the divorce crisis is not simply to communicate more, but to change the specific conduct that repeatedly causes divorce.
The Divorce Lawyers' Guide to Staying Married provides concrete advice on how to prevent divorce from the real experts on the subject: divorce lawyers. Based on in-depth interviews with 100 of America's leading divorce attorneys, The Divorce Lawyers' Guide to Staying Married explains why divorce occurs and what can be done to immunize today's marriages from the ever-growing divorce epidemic. Review:"Jaffe identifies the keys as sex; unrealistic expectations; money; communication; control; mental challenges and physical addictions; spouse clones, steps and the ex; growing apart; and lack of commitment. Each of these items is discussed clearly and includes helpful anecdotes." Dennis Lythgoe, Deseret News
Synopsis:Many of the attorneys interviewed count among their clients some of America's most famous names. The impressive list includes, among others: Eleanor Breitel Alter (who represented Mia Farrow in her divorce from Woody Allen) Irwin Buter (repped Viacom's Les Moonves), Bruce Clemens (Brad Pitt), Robert Nachshin (Barry Bonds, author Terry McMillan), Sorrell Trope (Nicolas Cage, Rosanne Barr) and Dennis Wasser (Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin).
