A collection of popular poetry readings from the BBC progarm "Poetry Please"
Synopsis:
This special edition celebrating the 25th anniversary of BBC Radio 4's hugely successful program Poetry Please features many of listeners' favorite poems. It includes Thomas Hardy's "The Ruined Maid", readings of Shakespeare's "Sonnets" by Samuel West, and the late Charles Causley reading his moving poem about his parents' death, "Eden Rock." Other old favorites such as Yeats, Larkin and Kipling also feature, as do contemporary poets including Adrian Henry, Simon Armitage, and Wendy Cope.
