Battlefield Detectives: Unearthing New Evidence on the World's Most Famous Battlefieldsby David Wason
Synopses & Reviews
Seven of history's greatest battles receive the Battlefield Detectives treatment in this fantastic companion to the TV series. Was Gallipoli lost before the Allies even got there? Was the defeat of the Spanish Armada actually more of a draw? Was Custer's last stand really that heroic? And did the V-for-victory sign really originate at Agincourt? These and dozens of other dramatic historical questions are dug up, examined with the latest technology, and answered.
About the Author
David Wason has been a television documentary producer for many years, working for both Granada Television and the BBC on programs such as World in Action and What the Papers Say. Among his credits he has been series producer of the award-winning Disappearing World. Wason's travels have taken him across the globe: as the first outsider to be allowed to film in Albania; with whale hunters in Indonesia; among the Mursi people of southern Ethiopia, with nomads in the Sahel, and on remote islands of the South Pacific. He also produced Barbarians: Secrets of the Dark Ages for Channel 4. Battlefield Detectives is based on a TV series of the same name.
