Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Welcome to the Kingdom of Id, a one-horse kingdom ruled by a wretched, pint-sized tyrannical despot known only as The King.

This is a collection of Brant Parker and Johnny Hart’s award-winning newspaper strip, featuring a cast of wise-cracking wizards and rotten rulers, drunken has-been jesters and cowardly knights.

This volume collects the daily and Sunday strips from 1973 for the very first time, as well as new background feature material!

About the Author

Brant Parker used ideas from a deck of playing cards to create the first few strips of The Wizard of Id. The strip was first syndicated on November 9, 1964 - drawn by Parker and co-written by Parker and Hart. In 1997 Brant Parker passed his writing duties on to his son Jeff Parker, who had already been involved with creating Id for a decade.

Johnny Hart is an American cartoonist noted as the creator of the comic strip B.C. and co-creator of The Wizard of Id. Hart was recognized with several awards, including five from the National Cartoonists Society.
