The Joyners in 3Dby R J Ryan
Synopses & Reviews
The first full-length, original graphic novel done in anaglyph 3D!
In mid-21st century Northern California, prosperous technology executive George Joyner stands on the brink of revolutionizing life in America (again) with his latest high-flying invention. But just as business booms, George’s private life begins to implode, with devastating consequences, for his wife Sonya, their children Rochester and Michelle, and Sonya’s ailing father, David. Brought to life in stunning anaglyph 3D (two pairs of glasses come enclosed with each book), The Joyners in 3D details a story of personal betrayals, industrial intrigue, and sexual desire in uncompromising and visually impeccable terms. The Joyners in 3D reunites writer R.J. Ryan and New York Times best-selling illustrator David Marquez (Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, All-New X-Men), collaborators on Archaia’s acclaimed graphic novel Syndrome, for which Marquez earned a 2011 Russ Manning Award nomination.
About the Author
R. J. Ryan first collaborated with Daniel Quantz in comics on the successful 2004 launch of Marvel Comics all-ages series Marvel Age Spider-Man. Ryan worked as a West Coast writers recruiter for Marvel, bringing in Quantz to script the books first six issues over original 1960s Stan Lee plots. He and Quantz co-wrote Syndrome.
David Marquez is a full-time illustrator and also tutors test-taking strategies for the law school and med school entrance exams. Past work includes Syndrome and Days Missing: Kestus, and he is the current artist on Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man.
