Publisher Comments:

This insiders view of 1920s Venice recounts de Régniers 12 trips to the city of canals. Among the events narrated are the authors impressions, his visits to museums and churches, his encounters with writer and artist friends, and, perhaps most poignantly, his wanderings of the streets and the lagoon. The journal includes evocative photographs by Spanish fashion designer Mariano Fortuny, himself a resident of Venice.
