KIER8, August 31, 2008 (view all comments by KIER8)
Dr. Michael Lerner's "Jewish Renewal: A Path to Healing and Transformation" is both a bold reinterpretation of Jewish history and classic Jewish texts and a plea for a new social activist/prophetic Judaism along the lines of his mentors, Rabbis Abraham Joshua Heschel and Zalman Schachter-Shalomi. Rabbi Lerner is the founder and editor of the Tikkun magazine - the left's alternative to Commentary.
