The Time Bike (Hall Family Chronicles)
Synopses & Reviews
Newbery Honor-author Jane Langton's beloved books about the extraordinary Hall family have been applauded by review journals, award committees, and fans alike. Now available together for the first time as The Hall Family Chronicles, the adventures that began in the first three chronicles continue in The Fledgling, a Newbery Honor Book, The Fragile Flag, and The Time Bike, available for the first time in paperback.
The extraordinary Hall family lives in one of the most peculiar houses in Concord — a home where magic seems to lie in wait around every corner. In The Fledgling, a magical goose-prince takes little Georgie Hall on enchanted journeys high above Concord. The Fragile Flag leads the Hall children on a cross-country expedition to help save the world. And in The Time Bike, a birthday present takes them to distant lands and forgotten times. Eleanor, Eddie, and Georgie's page-turning adventures offer fantasy readers a journey to remember.
The new bike isn‘t pretty...
Not like the slick, red, twenty–one–speed bike that was stolen the very night Eddy had received it as a birthday present. The bike that Prince Krishna sent is old–fashioned and has a wicker basket –– the kind of bike no self–respecting boy like Eddy would be caught dead riding. Soon, though, Eddy doesn‘t care how the bike looks, because it has the ability to travel in ways he never thought possible –– in the fourth dimension. Eddy can‘t wait to take the ride of his life, visit important dates in history, and find a way to bypass exam week. But trips through time can have unpredictable results, and they‘re not always without danger...
A birthday present takes the Hall family to distant lands and forgotten times. Eleanor, Eddie, and Georgie's page-turning adventures offer fantasy readers a journey to remember.
