This is my favorite Judith Merkle Riley book. It covers all kinds of ground, from the Italian Court, to Nostradamus, to Christianity, to Black Magic. She takes a fictional character and places them in a Historical place and time. If you like Phillippa Gregory, try Merkle Riley, I think you'll like her.
