Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

When it appeared in 1997, Elizabeth Gilbert’s story collection, Pilgrims, immediately announced her compelling voice, her comic touch, and her amazing ear for dialogue. “The heroes of Pilgrims...are everyday seekers” (Harper’s Bazaar) — brave and unforgettable, they are sure to strike a chord with fans old and new.

Synopsis:

Gilbert's debut collection of short stories is remarkable for its breadth, range of setting, and subject matter. Each world her characters inhabit is authentic and fully realized, embracing the fabulous and bizarre with similar enthusiasm.

I'm giving this book a high rating even though I haven't read it yet! Looking forward to reading, as I just saw an interview with Gilbert and she is really interesting, plus a real writer's writer in the sense that she really gets what kind of details the reader needs.
