Publisher Comments:

Four women-four friends-share a determination to stop a killer who has been stalking newlyweds in San Francisco. Each one holds a piece of the puzzle: Lindsay Boxer is a homicide inspector in the San Francisco Police Department, Claire Washburn is a medical examiner, Jill Bernhardt is an assistant D.A., and Cindy Thomas just started working the crime desk of the San Francisco Chronicle.

But the usual procedures aren't bringing them any closer to stopping the killings. So these women form a Women's Murder Club to collaborate outside the box and pursue the case by sidestepping their bosses and giving one another a hand.

The four women develop intense bonds as they pursue a killer whose crimes have stunned an entire city. Working together, they track down the most terrifying and unexpected killer they have ever encountered-before a shocking conclusion in which everything they knew turns out to be devastatingly wrong.

Synopsis:

Imagine a killer who thinks, "What is the worst thing anyone has ever done?"--and then goes far beyond it. Now imagine four women --a police detective, an assistant DA, a reporter, and a medical examiner --who join forces as they sidestep their bosses to track down criminals. Known as the Women's Murder Club, they are pursuing a murderer whose twisted imagination has stunned an entire city. Their chief suspect is a socially prominent writer, but the men in charge won't touch him. On the trail of the most terrifying and unexpected killer ever, they discover a shocking surprise that turns everything about the case upside down.

I personally own over 70 James Patterson novels. After the Alex Cross series I was ready for a new lead character and a new series. This time the main character is a woman homicide investigator in the San Francisco police department. Her name is Lindsay Boxer and she is joined with 3 other woman. Claire Washburn is the medical examiner, Jill Bernhardt is an assistant D.A., and Cindy Thomas works as a crime writer for the San Francisco Chronicle.
The 4 woman are friends and determined to stop a killer who stalks newlyweds. The usual methods of catching a killer is just not working so the 4 form an alliance and form the Womans Murder Club. They establish an intense bond and together they side step usual procedures and pursue a killer who has stunned an entire city.
In Patterson style this 1st book moves fast, is very entertaining, and is hard to put down. As of this date this is the 1st of 11 books in this new series of crime thrillers.
