When this book was released it was considered seminal. however with the advent of computer software most of what it has to illuminate, has been shown to be wrong. "Backgammon the Cruelest Game" still has value, particularly, covering the doubling cube. Also it is interesting from a historical point of view. If you can find a cheap used copy it's well worth having in your library, though it needs to be taken with more than a grain of salt. Happy doubling. Player1037(Karl Duzell).
