This is a series that is for people who are looking for Christian books, not so much a mystery that takes place in the National Parks. The scripture quotes are frequent and accurate, but the attitudes of the rightous are smug and heavy handed. There was very little about Death Valley and the scenery descriptions seemed only to reinforce the negative conotations, not to describe an amazing beautiful place. I was hoping for more scenery or an accurate portrayal of the National Park Service but I got what amounted to a preachy and jaded scolding.
