When the trumpet sounds, where will you be? Passengers in an airborne Boeing 747 find out in this riveting novel by renowned Christian speaker Tim LaHaye and master storyteller Jerry Jenkins. Without any warning, passengers mysteriously disappear from their seats. Terror and chaos slowly spread not only through the plane but also worldwide as unusual events continue to unfold. For those who have been left behind, the apocalypse has just begun. This fictional account of life after the Rapture delivers an urgent call to today's readers to prepare their own hearts and minister to others.

Synopsis:

After millions of people around the world vanish in one moment, in what many claim to be the Rapture, Rayford Steele begins a search for the truth amidst global chaos.

This book tells the story of the Rapture and part of the Tribulation that follows. This whole series is great because it is Biblically accurate, creative, and unpredictable.

This book has made an impression on me like few others have in my lifetime of reading (50+ years). It grabbed me and led me to a series of books that have been each as enjoyable as the one before. I do not think even in my childhood or teenage years a series has held my attention to the end. The only exception is another in my adult life by Stephen King "The Green Mile". I do not think it compares however as it was not as complex or as long. It was really one book released in segments. I travel quite a bit for work and I really got lost in this book and it's successors time after time. I am grateful that I was able to miss the long waits in airports and on planes as a result. I would love to thank Tim LaHaye personally for that gift.

This is the first in a series of books that you will just have to read once you have read the first. The writing is current and enticing for any adult. Although this is written as Christian Fiction, if I had not known that or not been aware of the biblical rapture reference, I might have thought this was just great Science Fiction.
