About the Author

Simon Singh received his Ph.D. in particle physics from the University of Cambridge. The Big Bang by Simon Singh offers excellent insight into the world of science, even thought it tended to drag on with pointless facts about physicists and other scientists. It was adequately comprehensible and more or less an enjoyable read. For an average person such as myself, I gained further understanding of the theory of "The Big Bang" and expanded my horizons with this concept. For better convenience of the reader, it would've been in Singh's best interest to shorten the book by the first 100 pgs. On the other hand, he did an excellent job guiding the reader through the research involved and, through convenient diagrams, made his novel an enjoyable read. I would recommend it to anyone curious about our universe, and wanting to gather more insight.

The Big Bang is a primer on the history of astrophysics targeted to the armchair admirer of science rather than the professional. Singh manages to keep the narrative entertaining (who would imagine that this book would feature a drunken moose!?!) while blowing your mind with complex scientific theories. I would as often laugh out loud as I would run up to the nearest person to try to explain to them my newfound understanding of relativity.
