Publisher Comments:

Enter the world of Shel Silverstein...

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Shel Silverstein's most popular book, Where the Sidewalk Ends is now available in a special edition containing the classic hardcover book and a CD of highlights from his Grammy Award-winning album. This is a wonderful gift and keepsake for Shel Silverstein fans, old and new.

From the outrageously funny to the quietly affecting — and touching on everything in between — here are poems and drawings that illuminate the remarkable world of the well-known folksinger, humorist and creator of The Giving Tree.

Review:

"An ideal book for teachers to have handy....If you want to ungloom your day, start Where the Sidewalk Ends." Reading Teacher

Review:

"A zesty collection of humorous light verse." SLJ

Synopsis:

In the vein of Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky, this illustrated book of humorous poems will guarantee giggles

Artist, poet, and award-winning author Douglas Florian successfully captures the comedy of kids everyday lives with this jam-packed volume of 170 nonsense poems. Meander through the different aisles—such as “Jests and Jives” or “Tons of Puns”—to find everything from laugh-out-loud limericks to frenetic free verse. With Florians eccentric wit and off-the-wall drawings, this one-stop funny poetry shop is perfect for fans of Where the Sidewalk Ends.
