A wonderful first book for your baby, this wordless picture book is about a little boy with a purple crayon, and as he draws across the page the illustrations come to life. When I "read" this book to my babies, I saw their eyes following the purple line. It's still my favorite and occupies a prized place in my collection.

Draw up a chair and experience the reality created, sometimes consciously and sometimes not, by Harold using his purple crayon. Harold can intentionally depict what he needs or wants, but he can also accidently sketch a scary world. His ability to transform the troublesome into the tranquil is both inspiring (and, inspired) and remarkably satisfying.
