While nodding to the increasing role of computers in stress analysis, they emphasize the primacy of learning what the problems are over specific solutions or methods. This edition (no date noted for the first) offers mostly new homework exercises and expanded treatment of fatigue, rectangular plates, plastic action in plates, and buckling.
