wow was this novel excellent. i can't write much of a review without giving away some of the plot. just trust me; read it! it's wonderful.

This book is a devastating commentary on loss, love, and friendship. I love the Ishiguro's exploration of a compressed life cycle and its repercussions. Putting myself in the positions of Kathy, Tommy, and Ruth was a frightening experience and witnessing the gradual acceptance of a cruel and forced lifestyle was very powerful for me. I highly recommend this book but only if you are prepared to grapple with self-reflection and the three dimensional conflicts of these lovely characters.
