Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, 3-volume Set (11TH 07 - Old Edition)by Eugene D. Frank
Synopses & ReviewsPlease note that used books may not include additional media (study guides, CDs, DVDs, solutions manuals, etc.) as described in the publisher comments.
The "bible" of radiography, this comprehensive resource presents more than 400 projections. Clear, step-by-step instructions explain all commonly performed procedures. Merrill's shows how to properly position the patient so that each radiograph provides the information the physician needs to make a correct diagnosis. Separate chapters cover each bone group or organ system, all illustrated in full color and augmented with MRI images as appropriate. This text is so highly regarded that many state boards and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists refer to it when designing their certification exams.
Book News Annotation:
New to the 11th edition of this three-volume textbook and reference are the addition of a projection of the Coyle Method for demonstrating the elbow after trauma and a modification of the Judet Method of demonstrating the acetabulum on trauma patients; a new chapter on the theory and use of compensating filters; all new high resolution CT and MRI images in the sectional anatomy chapter; and expanded attention to the methods and uses of computed radiography and direct digital radiography. A number of projections used in older editions were omitted, as were the chapters on radiation protection and computed radiography. The volumes are clearly organized and filled with excellent color drawings, photos of models demonstrating correct positions, tables, and the radiographs themselves.
