Joy Harjo understands the challenges that life throws at women in general and Native women in particular. In this amazing collection of poetry, Joy Harjo evokes a sense of resilience and beauty that makes me want to cry out in empathy. This book moved me and gave me a new understanding of what it is to be female in this world.
