It didn't take long for students around the world to realize that anatomy texts just don't get any better than Gray's Anatomy for Students. Only in its 2nd edition, this already popular, clinically focused reference has moved far ahead of the competition and is highly recommended by anyone who uses it. A team of authors with a wealth of diverse teaching and clinical experience has updated and revised this new edition to efficiently cover what you're learning in contemporary anatomy classes. An improved format, updated clinical material, and remarkable artwork by renowned illustrators Richard Tibbitts and Paul Richardson make anatomy easier than ever for you to master. Unique coverage of surface anatomy, correlative diagnostic images, and clinical case studies demonstrate practical applications of anatomical concepts. And, an international advisory board, comprised of more than 100 instructors, ensures that the material is accurate, up to date, and easy to use. To further enhance your learning experience, you'll have access to the entire book online, with additional content, interactive exercises, and more.
Book News Annotation:
This text on gross anatomy can be used in a variety of professional programs, such as medical, dental, and chiropractic programs, by students in traditional, systemic, combined traditional/systemic, and problem-based curricula. It will be particularly useful to students when lectures and labs in gross anatomy are minimal. An opening chapter, expanded for this edition, covers principles of anatomy, imaging, and an overview of body systems, with some material moved from other chapters. Each regional anatomy chapter consists of a conceptual overview, material on regional and surface anatomy, and clinical cases. The art program features about 1,000 color anatomical illustrations by Richard Tibbetts and Paul Richardson, plus b&w diagnostic images, and labeled color photos of live models. This edition highlights clinical material throughout the chapters, rather than only at the end. Other new features include a restructured index, chapter tables of contents, and diagnostic images from emerging technologies. Chapter questions have been moved to a companion web site. Drake teaches surgery at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. Annotation ©2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
