About the Author

James Stewart received his M.S. from Stanford University and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He did research at the University of London and was influenced by the famous mathematician George Polya at Stanford University. Stewart is currently Professor of Mathematics at McMaster University, and his research field is harmonic analysis. Very good book to cover all the concepts of calculus, well defined and straight forward. The authors of this book provide an intuitive approach to solving problems as well as giving practical problems as examples and the reasoning as to go about solving them.

Would highly recommend this book!
It also includes very helpful CD's which supplement the book by providing even more examples of solutions encountered in the typical calculus class.

Although its pricey its well worth the investment if your having trouble in calculus and want an edge in your learning curve to come up to speed with the rest of the class.
