Growing up on a farm, 'The Tomten' and 'The Tomten and the Fox' were literary treasures that brought my siblings and I years of enjoyment and imaginative play. My mother made impressive efforts to ensure we believed we had our own resident Tomten who kept us, and our animals, safe at night. I still get lost in the dreamy illustrations each time I read them! They were among the first books I sought out for my collection when I had my own children, and l look forward to passing along the lore of the Tomten's mysterious wonder.
