About the AuthorBob Caputo is a freelance photographer and writer and co-author with Peter Burian of the comprehensive National Geographic Photography Field Guide as well as the solo author for the Photography Field Guides on People and Portraits and Landscapes. He is also author of the children's books, Hyena Day and More Than Just Pets, and the adult photography books, Journey Up The Nile and Kenya Journal. Since 1980 he has written about and photographed Africa, South America, and Asia on a regular basis for National Geographic Magazine. His films include National Geographic's Zaire River Journey and TNT's Glory and Honor.
